Working on the Ivovik Wind Farm Project, the largest renewable energy project in Bosnia, the crane was required to erect the wind turbines that possessed blades measuring in at 136m long. The wind farm itself is located at just over 1500m above sea level and is being constructed during Bosnia’s winter, a period noted for its strong winds and unpredictable weather, according to the manufacturer. According to Deputy General Manager of Youtone, contractor for the project, Yang Jianjun, the crane’s accuracy and reliability was key in navigating extremely difficult conditions.

“The super high reliability and micro-motion of XCMG lifting equipment assured the fast and accurate installation of the wind turbine under challenging and changeable weather conditions,” he said. “The service team also provided labour and equipment support for the project, which is why we chose XCMG.”

The XCC2000 is a machine designed by XCMG specifically to be a wind power crane. The machine, possessing a maximum main boom length of 81.4m and extensions providing the crane with a maximum hoisting height of 150m, is China’s largest telescopic wind power crane it has exported to date. Possessing a lifting capacity of 2000 tonnes and the capacity to lift over 130 tonnes at heights of 145m, the crane also holds a narrow chassis of 4.5m, reflective of its compact nature.

XCMG’s products are distributed across Australia by Ronco Group and D&D Diesel Services.
