WireCo launches new durable steel rope for cranes

WireCo CASAR, a steel ropes manufacturer, has introduced a new product called Boomfit. It is designed for telescopic, crawler, and large tower cranes. This new steel rope aims to meet the needs of the crane industry.

Boomfit’s high compressive strength makes it suitable for multi-layer spooling and ensuring durability. With the crane industry continuously seeking dependable solutions for heavy-duty lifting, Boomfit aims to deliver by providing a balance between performance and cost-effectiveness. The rope is engineered to adapt to various working conditions and provide a good price performance ratio to crane operators concerned with both reliability and budget.

A notable feature of Boomfit is its plastic-coated steel core, a product of CASAR’s Plast rope technology. This is designed to extend the rope’s lifecycle and enhance its performance under strenuous use, thereby reducing maintenance demands while maintaining operational efficiency.

David Rowatt, PhD, PE, SVP Global Steel Engineering at WireCo said, “Boomfit represents our commitment to delivering a durable and economical solution that meets the high standards expected by crane operators globally. Its innovative design and superior capabilities are tailored for heavy-duty lifting tasks.”

The new rope was also displayed at bauma Munich, drawing attention for its relevance to mobile and tower crane applications, alongside another product, Lazerlift.
