The company, Jousai UnyuKiko Co., Ltd, is one of the largest players for renewable energy projects in Japan. To safely and successfully transport the blades to their installation site, the crane hire and heavy haulage company opted for the combination of Cometto’s BladeMAX650 and the modular ModulMAX AP-M.

Cometto’s BladeMAX650 features three axes to help navigate complex, tight trips where regular truck and trailer combinations will not fit. The first axis can raise the blade to an angle of almost 90 degrees, while the second axis enables 360-degree swivel and rotation. The third axis, on the other hand, enables a lateral swivel angle of 20 degrees, giving operators a high level of manoeuvrability and flexibility when positioning the blade on confined roads.

On top of its unique, three-axis combination, the BladeMAX650 also possesses Cometto’s patented tilt kinematics, a levering device that ensures the centre of gravity remains constantly stable, while also collecting all relevant safety data from an array of sensors that are then sent to the central control unit.

The ModulMAX AP-M, on the other hand, possesses a 45-tonne payload capacity per axle line, that is contained within a two-to-six-axle line trailer measuring up to 3000mm in width. The modules within the trailer are built on a dual-link patented suspension system that provides an even spread of forces and bending moments.

In order to facilitate easier wind turbine blade transport, Cometto’s product line also includes the BladeMAX800 and BladeMAX1000.

Cometto’s products are distributed in Australia by The Drake Group.
