German crane rental company Wilhelm Bruns Kranvermietung has added two new Grove all-terrain cranes to its fleet — a GMK4100L-2 and a GMK5250XL-1 — both supplied from the Manitowoc factory in Wilhelmshaven.
The company, which has offices in Lüneburg and Hamburg, works with customers in the construction, energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
The Grove GMK4100L-2 has a 100 t lift capacity and a 60 m main boom. It includes a 16 m bi-fold jib for extra reach, reversing and Bird’s Eye View cameras, remote control, and an engine that meets EUROMOT 5/Tier 4 Final standards. It can also run on 100% HVO diesel.
“The two new cranes combine compact dimensions and excellent lifting capacities – we are extremely impressed,” said Adrian Keck, managing director of Wilhelm Bruns Kranvermietung. “They have done a first-class job on their first projects. We equipped them with the MAXbase™ system for variable outrigger positions, and they are extremely user-friendly thanks to the intuitive boom configurator. Their features and benefits, combined with category-leading lift and reach capacities, enable us to use them on a wide range of applications.”
The GMK5250XL-1 offers a 250 t maximum capacity and a 78.5 m main boom. It can reach up to 109 m with its jib. It uses Grove’s single-engine design, which cuts fuel use by 30% compared to earlier models, reducing emissions and operating costs.
Wilhelm Bruns, which marked its 100th anniversary last year, has worked with Manitowoc since the 1960s. Manitowoc supports the company from its customer centre in Langenfeld.
