Announcing the acquisition via WATM’s social media channels on February 8, the five axle Grove was handed over by WATM’s State Sales Manager, Luke Davis, to General Manager of Boom Logistics – West Coast, Lester Fernandez.

“Boom Logistics’ acquisition of the Grove GMK5150L-1 from WATM Crane Sales and Services highlights our proactive approach to advancing our fleet’s capacity,” said Lester. “Integrating this new crane into our fleet exemplifies our continuous pursuit of operational excellence.”

On top of its maximum rated capacity of 150-tonnes Boom’s new Grove all-terrain possesses a six-section, Megaform, twin-lock main boom that ranges from 12.8m through to 60m, a total of 44.5 tonnes of counterweight – of which it can carry 10.2 tonnes within a 12-tonne per axle limit – and a compact dimension of 2.75m wide and 14.5m long. Additionally, the crane also possesses Grove’s patented Megatrak suspension and Maxbase variable outrigger system to further enhance the machine.

One of its largest selling points, however, is its eco-friendly nature: with Eco Mode available for the superstructure and a EUROMOT 5 compliant engine, the machine combines high performance with fuel and energy efficiency, according to the manufacturer.

“Marking over 20 years of collaboration, our 51st Manitowoc crane delivery from WATM underscores a mutual commitment to delivering superior reliability and after-sales service,” said Luke. “Coinciding with WATM’s 50th anniversary, this milestone accentuates our combined dedication to setting industry standards in service quality and safety, strengthening our leadership in the industry.”

On top of providing major crane inspections – an aspect of its business it recently won an award for – WATM Crane Sales and Services distributes Manitowoc and Grove’s products across the state.
