Two new eight-axle mobile cranes delivered

A Turkish crane hire company has added two Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 mobile cranes to its fleet. With a fixed lattice jib and luffing jib, the new cranes achieve lifting heights of up to 132 metres and will be deployed in wind farms, among other places.

The crane and heavy haulage company Aydıntaş, based in Bursa, has invested in the two new Liebherr mobile cranes, strengthening its activities in the energy sector.

The new cranes will primarily be used in the wind energy industry, focusing on maintenance work on wind turbines. The eight-axle cranes are equipped each with an 85-metre telescopic boom, allowing it to reach lifting heights of around 84 metres.

If greater height is required, a folding jib can be quickly installed and a fixed jib or powerful luffing jib can also be attached.

Company owner Yusuf Aydın explained why the company turned to the eight axle crane.

“To reach hub heights of up to 88 metres, we ordered a seven-metre-long fixed lattice jib for each crane and an additional 84-metre-long respectively an additional 56-metre-long luffing jib– these enable us to lift loads to heights of up to 132 metres. Thanks to their easy assembly, we can operate quickly and cost-effectively,” he said.

On public roads, the large fast-erecting crane can travel with a 12-tonne axle load, carrying its full boom, all four supports and the hoist winch. This ensures it is quickly operational on-site.

With proven technologies such as the infinitely adjustable, hydraulically adjustable VarioBallast, VarioBase, the single-engine concept, as well as ECOmode and ECOdrive, the 450-tonne crane represents the pinnacle of crane technology.

Trust built over 30 years

“We value Liebherr’s reliability as a partner and the robust quality of their cranes. Today, our fleet includes 50 mobile and crawler cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 75 to 1,600 tonnes, ten of which are Liebherr cranes,” Aydın said.

Aydıntaş has been relying on the Ehingen-based crane manufacturer for 30 years – the very first machine in its fleet was an LTM 1400 with eight axles.

The company employs approximately 400 people across its headquarters in Bursa, three additional branches and four service centres located in Gebze, Bandırma, Biga and Erbil.

With its extensive expertise, Aydıntaş offers its customers versatile and efficient heavy-lift solutions for harbours, wind farms, all types of power plants, cement factories and various other facilities.
