This latest addition will support various projects across Türkiye, particularly construction projects using precast concrete sections.
The 120-tonne GMK5120L was chosen for its versatility. Aside from its impressive load-handling capabilities, the crane is highly manoeuvrability with the ability to navigate tight spaces on congested job sites.
The GMK5120L comes with a 66-metre main boom and counterweight configurations which enable setup from 0.8 tonne in counterweight, to taxi configurations of 12-tonne-to-16.5-tonne per axle.
The crane was ordered without a jib or auxiliary hoist, to ensure it has the most compact configuration to make negotiating tight spaces even easier.
Another customisation was the inclusion of modifications, including additional hydraulic coolers, to ensure the crane performs even in Turkey’s hot summers.
Rıza Penahi, General Manager of KAMBETON spoke to the Grove’s reputation.
“We have relied on Grove cranes for over two decades, and we love their performance and reliability,” he said.
“The GMK5120L is a valuable addition to our fleet, offering versatility in tight spaces and strength for large, prefabricated elements. Given our extensive experience with Grove cranes, we are confident the GMK5120L will serve our needs for many years.”
KAMBETON owns an all-Grove fleet of mobile cranes having purchased its first in 1997 – a Grove GMK4070 – which is still in use today.
