Purchasing the three machines last year, the company acquired an LTM 1070-4.2, an LTM 1050-3.1, and an LTR 1100 to aid the company in its primary works involving concrete and steel assembly work, construction of prefabricated houses, repair work on biogas plants, and railway carriage repairs. According to Managing Director of the family-owned company, Frank Bruns, the company’s close history working with the German manufacturer was a key factor in purchasing the cranes.

“The top service and the availability of spare parts were also decisive criteria for the purchase,” he said. “Our collaboration with Liebherr has always worked well so far.”

The LTM 1070-4.2, acquired to replace an existing 70-tonne mobile crane in the company’s fleet, comes with a folding jib that can reach heights of up to 65m, is equipped with Liebherr’s patented VarioBase technology, and the ECOmode and ECOdrive features that result in reduced fuel consumption in tandem with lower noise pollution. Crane operator at Bruns Schwerlast, Mario Naumann, praised the reliability and consistency of Liebherr’s cranes, based off his experience with the new ones rolling through Bruns’ doors.

“As a crane driver, I have had very good experiences with the LICCON2 control system and VarioBase in the past,” he said, “and the new crane offers us more of the same.”

In addition to the three new cranes, the Magdeburg-based company possesses four other Liebherr cranes weighing up to 250 tonnes on five axles in its fleet, representative of its satisfaction with the level of quality coming from Liebherr.
