Three new Grove all terrain cranes for Baldwins Crane Hire

Baldwins Crane Hire has acquired three new Grove all terrain cranes.

UK company Baldwins Crane Hire has acquired three new Grove all terrain cranes, taking its total of GMK machines in its fleet to six.

Baldwins recently received three Grove GMK5120L cranes to complement its previous acquisition of two GMK5150XL units and a GMK5250XL-1 unit earlier in the year.

The new GMK5120L machines are the first of their kind in the UK. With their arrivals making Baldwins the possessor of the largest fleet of five-and six-axle Grove cranes in the country, Manitwoc’s UK Sales Manager for mobile cranes James Leishman spoke of the company’s “pride” in delivering the new machines for Baldwins.

“Our class-leading five-axle units, the GMK5120L and GMK5150XL, give customers the longest booms around as well as great taxi counterweight options, and compact footprints,” he said. “Companies like Baldwins can take on bigger and better jobs with these cranes while still enjoying reliable and productive performance.”

The first of their class in the country, the 120-tonne capacity GMK5120L offers long reach with a 66m main boom and strong taxi crane capabilities. The crane can carry up to 30.7 tonnes of counterweight for configurations of 16.5 tonnes per axle, or up to 14.6 tonnes of counterweight for a 12-tonne axle configuration, with the crane’s capabilities allowing businesses to benefit from greater flexibility and lower transportation costs. Additionally, thanks to the crane’s compact dimensions of 14.2m in length and 2.75m in width, the GMK5120L provides a high level of accessibility to jobsites and manoeuvrability.

“We’re extremely proud to deliver these latest cranes to Baldwins as the company continues to expand its operations thanks to the reliable and productive support of Grove mobile cranes,” said Leishman.

Baldwins Crane Hire is a leading name in the UK crane rental sector, supporting general construction, infrastructure development, power and energy projects, and more since 1957.
