Both Tadano and Vestas have entered the agreement to contribute to achieving Carbon Net Zero by 2050.
The deal will see the nacelle cranes be developed and sold, to contribute to the offshore wind power generation sector, which is also being promoted by the Japanese government, through Tadano’s product lineup.
The nacelle cranes are designed for Vestas’ new V236 offshore wind turbines and despite the specifications of the nacelle crane and other detailed information not yet disclosed, the cranes “will require require high durability and maintainability against strong offshore winds and high salinity,” in a Tadano statement.
The statement follows; “we believe that by leveraging our strengths and long history as a crane manufacturer, we can contribute to the spread of offshore wind power generation, which is one of the important energy policies of the Japanese government.”
As Tadano’s corporate philosophy of Creation, Contribution and Cooperation, Tadano said it aims to pursue further excellence for the world and the future by maximising corporate value and conducting sustainable business activities, thereby contributing to the conservation of the global environment and the realisation of a sustainable society.
Within Tadano’s mid-term Management plan (2024-2026), Tadano has set “Advancing Decarbonisation” as an important factor in their growth strategy.
Under the banner of “Tadano Green Solutions,” the crane manufacturer is developing a variety of environmentally friendly products.
Tadano said the collaboration with Vestas will bring great value to the company, and it hopes that their contributions to the offshore wind power field through their products will expand worldwide.
