Tadano has announced two senior appointments as it continues to strengthen its sales and customer support operations across the Americas.
Scott Walter has been named vice president of sales for Tadano America’s Manitex business segment, while Tyler Brown has been appointed national business manager for Tadano’s aerial work platform (AWP) business.
Based in Houston, Texas in the United States of America (USA), the appointments were announced on 12 January 2026 and form part of Tadano’s broader efforts to integrate recent acquisitions and expand support for customers.
Dean Barley, president and CEO of Tadano America Corporation, Manitex Inc and Tadano Mantis Corporation, said the appointment of Walter marked an important step in the integration of Manitex into the Tadano America organisation.

“From the very beginning, we saw the Manitex Inc investment as key to meeting Tadano’s vision of becoming the leader in lifting equipment. Since last January, we’ve dedicated much time and effort in enhancing our product, services and support infrastructure for customers,” Dean said. “With this addition to the team we are now adding an increased focus on sales. Scott has a long, proven track record of sales success and team member development. His wealth of industry experience is necessary for leading our sales teams in support of our customers’ lifting needs.”
Walter brings nearly 30 years of sales experience and more than 20 years in management. Most recently, he spent 16 years with Ritchie Bros. as vice president of strategic accounts in the OEM sector. He will oversee Manitex sales leadership, including Jeff Long and Anthony Hampton.
“I’m honored to be joining a market-leading organization like Tadano, who has built a strong global reputation for leadership in the lifting industry and delivers innovative solutions and services for its customers,” Scott said. “Working with the Manitex Inc team, Tadano has leveraged its experience to simplify the business, equipment distributors and customers with innovative tools to ensure success, and strengthened customer support by creating a laser focus on each of the key product lines. I’m excited to get to work and do my part to build on this success.”
In a separate move, Tadano has appointed AWP industry veteran Tyler Brown as national business manager for its aerial work platform business in the Americas. The role follows the recent introduction of Tadano’s AWP range to the North American market.

Erik Elzinga, vice president of AWP business development for Pan-America operations, said the appointment would support the next phase of growth for the business.
“Building on our renowned reputation in the lifting sector, we first announced at bauma our intentions of introducing a full range of Tadano AWP models engineered for superior stability, safety and efficiency to the North American market,” Erik said. “We followed through on this commitment for our customers and now have machines operating and available in North America. The addition of Tyler, who offers a wealth of experience in the AWP market, is a key next step in expanding customer support for this business.”
Brown has nearly 25 years of experience working with AWP manufacturers and rental companies and has held senior sales and executive roles. He will lead the North American sales team as Tadano continues to roll out its AWP product range.
“It is an extreme privilege to join a world-class manufacturer like Tadano and lead our dedicated team to help serve our customers work platform needs,” Tyler said. “Leveraging Tadano’s market-leading expertise in the crane market, our innovative AWP line will provide customers with market-leading products that have no equal.”
Tadano’s AWP offering in USA and Canada follows its acquisitions of Nagano Industry Co., Ltd. and Manitex International. The company will showcase its AWP range at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas, including the North American debut of the AS-63HD heavy-duty telescopic boom lift.
