Six Raimondi flat-top tower cranes are supporting construction of Sharjah’s newest Central Business District at Aljada, Arada’s large-scale master community in the United Arab Emirates.
Raimondi Middle East has installed four MRT159 cranes and two T187 cranes on the site as part of a new construction phase. The installation marks the first time cranes from the Raimondi T Series have been used on a GCC jobsite. The T187s form part of Raimondi Middle East’s ongoing fleet expansion, which now totals more than 200 cranes.
Wael Hasan, General Manager of Raimondi Middle East, said the company’s involvement reflects a long-standing partnership with the developer.

“Raimondi is a vital part of the construction works for Arada’s flagship megacity. Our long-standing partnership with the developer has been built on reliability, responsiveness, and consistent project delivery,” Wael said.
The Central Business District site is located next to another Aljada project where multiple Raimondi flat-top cranes are already operating, reinforcing the company’s strong presence across the wider development.
Aljada is being delivered on a fast-track schedule, placing strong demands on logistics and crane installation.
“Aljada is a fast-track project, and as with current and previous phases, seamless coordination during delivery, assembly, and installation was essential to ensure alignment with project schedule. This is why models with ease of installation and great versatility were chosen,” Wael said.
The four MRT159 cranes arrived onsite with parts pre-assembled, ropes passed and rope connections installed. Each crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 8 tonnes and is fitted with a 30kW hoist winch capable of lifting at speeds of up to 136 metres per minute. The cranes were erected with jib lengths ranging from 50 metres to 65 metres and are currently freestanding at heights of up to 51 metres.
The two newly delivered T187 flat-top cranes are equipped with Lumina crane cabins. They feature jib lengths of 60 metres and 65 metres, with tower heights of 63 metres and 57 metres. The cranes have tip loads of 2.59 tonnes and 2.09 tonnes and can lift at speeds of up to 115 metres per minute in the 30kW winch configuration, with a drum capacity of 510 metres.
As construction progresses, five of the six cranes will be climbed to final heights of up to 85 metres.
“Raimondi’s Middle East rental fleet now includes several T187 flat-tops. The T187 has excellent specifications in terms of lifting capabilities, speed, and configurations,” Wael said. “The weight-optimized components facilitate installation procedures, and coupled with crane’s maximum lifting capacity of 10t, make the machines an attractive option for fast-tracked projects.”
Raimondi Middle East Head of Operations Eng. Muath Bani-Issa said early feedback on the T187 has been very positive.
“Beyond its mechanical strength, the crane’s integrated ConCore system allows for ease of commissioning, while enabling us to remotely monitor performance and operations in real time,” Muath said.
Installed in the fourth quarter of 2025, the cranes are expected to remain onsite for up to 18 months. Once complete, the Central Business District will include premium office buildings, commercial spaces and mixed-use business facilities.
