Recently, Sarens successfully completed an important project at Energía Valle de México II, located in Axapusco, Mexico. The company assisted in assembling a new energy rotor weighing 65 tonnes.
The project was commissioned by Energía del Valle de México (EVM) and started in January 2025. Originally, the GMK7450 crane was supposed to be used, but it became unavailable. Instead, the AC700 crane, capable of lifting up to 500 tonnes, was deployed. This crane turned out to be an ideal choice, offering both the capacity and flexibility necessary to operate efficiently in the confined space at the site.
After an urgent request from the client, Sarens quickly transported the AC700 crane from Monterrey to Axapusco, a journey that took three days. The crane was assembled in one day, and lifting operations began as soon as there was a suitable break in production. The rotor replacement boosted the plant’s capacity, contributing to cleaner and more efficient energy production in the region.
Sarens was chosen for this project due to its competitive offer and because of its ability to mobilise quickly, benefiting from its strong local presence. The client said that the AC700 crane performed flawlessly, seamlessly adapting to the site’s conditions and fulfilling the lifting needs.
Currently, the crane remains on site, continuing to assist with the installation of the new rotor, marking a critical upgrade for the infrastructure.
