Sany tower cranes aid in nuclear plant construction

JSC ASE has officially completed construction on Bangladesh’s first nuclear power plant with the help of 16 Sany tower cranes.

The tower cranes – Sany’s SFT380 (T7530-16) – have been operating on the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant for 1500 days and recently completed the concreting of the inner containment dome, marking the end of the project.

Head of the project Mr Khazin was effusive in his praise for Sany’s products.

“Sany’s tower crane changed my impression of China’s machinery,” he said. “We look forward to further cooperation with Sany.”

JSC ASE, attracted by Sany’s products and after-sales service, purchased 16 units of the Chinese manufacturer’s tower cranes for the nuclear power plant project, marking the SANY tower crane’s debut in Russia’s nuclear power supply chain.

Attempting to stay at the forefront of the industry, Sany launched its building of “lighthouse factory” and “green factory”, reducing failure rates and its carbon footprint while improving assembly efficiency.

After visiting the smart factory of Sany’s tower crane, JSC ASE’s representative spoke highly: “this is an advanced plant,” he said, “and we believe that the product from such an assembly line must be reliable.”

Currently, Sany has sold about 400 units of tower cranes to Turkey, South Korea, Singapore, and other countries, widely recognized by overseas markets.

Located 160 kilometres outside of Dhaka, the plant is composed of two VVER-1200 reactors with an installed capacity of 1200MW and a total installed capacity of 2.4GW.

The plant will become the main force of Bangladesh’s power grid.
