Sany delivers its first hydrogen refueling project to Australia

SANY has delivered its first hydrogen refueling project to Australia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s international expansion.

The state-of-the-art hydrogen production and refueling equipment, custom-developed for an Australian client, was officially delivered on May 20, 2024. This project showcases SANY’s advanced technology, originally developed for the largest integrated hydrogen refueling station in China.

The new system employs cutting-edge electrolysis technology paired with a sophisticated control setup to ensure stable and efficient hydrogen production. The equipment can refuel both commercial vehicles and passenger cars quickly and safely, handling different hydrogen pressures to meet various vehicle requirements.

Meeting Global Safety Standards
For its entry into the Australian market, SANY ensured the project met rigorous international safety and quality standards. The equipment received multiple certifications, including:
* AS 3000 Electrical Safety Certification (Class 2 standard in Australia)
* ASME/AS1200 Certification for pressure vessels, compliant with both U.S. and Australian regulations
* SAE J2601 Protocol Test, allowing passenger vehicles to refuel in under three minutes

Safety was a top priority during development. The project included extensive risk assessments and safety analyses to guarantee a secure and reliable hydrogen refueling process.

With this successful deployment, SANY strengthens its role in promoting clean energy globally. The company remains committed to sustainability, focusing on innovations in wind, solar, hydrogen, and energy storage technologies.

“SANY is accelerating its transition towards decarbonization and green growth, contributing a green force to the industry,” said Xiang Wenbo, Chairman of SANY Heavy Industry.
