SANY Group has officially begun operations at its first global engineering machinery remanufacturing base in China, marking a major step in the company’s global and sustainability plans.
The new facility, known as the SANY Hunan-Hainan Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, opened on December 23 in Dongfang City, Hainan Province. On its first day of operation, SANY secured orders worth CNY100 million (USD14.27 million) from customers in Southeast Asia and Africa.
The industrial park is China’s first to be jointly developed by a pilot free trade zone and a pilot free trade port. It is designed to strengthen cooperation between Hunan and Hainan provinces by combining their industrial strengths and policy advantages to help Chinese companies expand internationally.
Construction of the park began in August 2023. It covers around 10 hectares, and represents a total investment of CNY600 million (USD85.62 million). Once fully operational, it is expected to generate an annual output value of approximately CNY750 million (USD107.02 million).
The site has been positioned as a regional remanufacturing hub and resource distribution platform serving both domestic and international markets. Its main focus is the maintenance and remanufacturing of core engineering machinery components and second-hand equipment, supporting the circular reuse of industrial resources.
Under the Hainan free trade zone framework, the park is able to access several policy benefits. These include tariff preferences for eligible value-added processing, bonded supervision for remanufacturing operations, and potential corporate and personal income tax incentives. The park also benefits from the “Dual 15 per cent” tax policy and has approval for outsourced processes to receive a 15 per cent reduction in corporate income tax.
“The project represents a key strategic initiative for SANY to deepen its globalisation, digitalisation, and low-carbon transformation. Moving forward, SANY will continue to actively explore new models for remanufacturing, promote the circular reuse of industrial resources, and jointly advance the global engineering machinery industry’s transition toward a greener, low-carbon future,” said Tang Xiuguo, Chairman of SANY.
After first being introduced, Tang was referred to by his first name in line with standard style.
