The Zoomlion R20000-720 tower crane is currently using its 720 tonne lifting capacity, its 20,000-tonne metres rating and its 400 metre reach to assist the build of the Shiziyang Bridge.
The Shiziyang Bridge in Guangzhou, China features a dual-layer steel truss suspension design and, upon completion, will be the world’s largest dual-level suspension bridge, with a main span of 2,180m..
The R20000-720 has also been complimented for its ability to withstand and perform under extreme conditions, such as strong winds, high humidity and heavy loads.
The crane is successfully overcoming the risks of working at height, meeting stringent construction standards, and complex multi-dimensional construction challenges.
The highly regarded and state-of-the-art tower crane integrates 305 invention patents and 158 innovative research achievements.
Precise movements are being achieved on the R20000-720, as the moving counterweight technology allows for accurate movement in response to changing load moments; enhancing lifting performance by over 60 per cent.
The crane also features a high-load lightweight structure and a heavy-duty modular design; this advancement resolves challenges for large cranes, transportation, assembly and disassembly.
Additionally, Zoomlion’s Tower Crane ETI Intelligent Control System enables millisecond response times, allowing for precise operations.
In 2023, the R20000-720 was successfully used in Ma’anshan Yangtze River Rail-Road Bridge, which was the world’s first three-tower cable-stayed bridge with dual main spans exceeding one kilometre, and the world’s longest steel truss cable-stayed bridge.
