Three engineers travelled from Zhangjiagang, China directly to historical site in Turkey to supervise the commissioning of the crane.
Zhang Yuanxiong, Manitowoc’s Field Service Manager, led the team through the smooth set-up of the crane and provided hands-on training to the local team.
“We covered common operating issues and how to resolve them, as well as the importance of maximising uptime through regular inspections, fault diagnosis, and preventive maintenance. Learning in real-time, on the job helped the crew to understand much faster and will give them the confidence to get the most out of their new purchase,” said Zhang.
The Potain MCT 185 provides an 8-tonne maximum capacity with a 65m jib.
The topless tower crane includes compact sections that simplify assembly and the MCT 185 is designed with urban and infrastructure projects in mind.
The Potain MCT 185 represents many elements of China-built MCT models, which include increased efficiency, stronger productivity, enhance reliability and easier transport and assembly.
The new Tersane Istanbul development will transform the historic Ottoman shipyards into a modern and dynamic urban hub, which is located along Istanbul’s shoreline.
Spanning 242,000 square metres, the development will feature modern amenities, luxury waterfront residences and historical areas. The waterfront residences will offer different retail, entertainment and food options, all set against the backdrop of Golden Horn Bay.
The main contractor for the job is AHS VINÇ – Potain’s local dealer and the crane will stay on-site for one year.
