XCMG Machinery has introduced a series of all-terrain, Australian mine-specific cranes to the Australian market to work in Australia’s harsh mining environment.
The cranes, currently working throughout the Pilbara mining area, range from 40-tonne capacity to 300-tonne capacity, and boast “high-temperature resistance and superior environmental adaptability”, according to a press release from XCMG. The machines are equipped with EU emission compliant engines, 20.5-inch-wide tyres, and an intelligent driving system.
With cranes being subjected to long, arduous jobs in degrees consistently surpassing 30 degrees and occasionally reaching the 50-degree mark as well as experiencing intense UV radiation, XCMG’s R&D team completed a comprehensive investigation and has adopted the high-temperature technology deployed in Middle Eastern models to upgrade the hydraulic cooling system in Australian units. Using simulations and extensive testing at the manufacturing facility, the team has developed a highly adaptable hydraulic cooling system specifically engineered for the harsh Australian mining environment.
Reflective of the manufacturer’s commitment to ensuring the right product is delivered to the right customer, XCMG has also customised cranes for one of its Australian clients to factor in high wind speed in its harbour operations. XCMG dispatched an R&D service team to the site in question to analyse the working conditions, which resulted in an innovative, safe slewing system providing the crane with higher lifting capacities in higher wind speeds.
Due to the need for reliable, continuously functional machines in the mining industry in Australia, XCMG has stationed a local service and R&D team in the country “long-term”, according to the press release. News of XCMG’s commitment to post-sale service and support, as well as listening to end-users to improve and apply tailor-made customisations to its products, comes after ANZ Crane Sales Manager, Stephen Broomfield, effusively praised the quality of its two chosen dealers in Australia, D&D Diesel Services and Ronco Group.
News of XCMG’s Australian mine-specific cranes follows the manufacturer being platinum sponsor of the CICA 2023 National Conference – Australia’s most prestigious crane conference and exhibition – where it displayed a range of “Australia-ready cranes”.
