Sydney-based lifting equipment rental provider, Performance Access, has added a Genie S-80 J TraX boom lift to its fleet, praising its versatility and low cost of ownership.

The tracked boom can reach a maximum working height of 26.51m and has a maximum platform capacity of 300 kilograms, which said Performance Access General Manager Rocco Perugini said were “significant factors” in its decision to buy.

“The S-80 J TraX will integrate seamlessly into our fleet, enabling our clients to access and work in areas that were previously unreachable due to inadequate hardstand conditions,” he said.

“The boom’s tracked undercarriage provides excellent stability on uneven terrain…built to withstand harsh working conditions, it ensures long service life and reliability, even in demanding environments.

“Additionally, the ergonomic design of the controls and platform provides comfort for the operator during extended use,” he said.

The broader weight distribution provided by its tracks reduces the machine’s contact pressure by an average of 72 percent over standard tyre options, enabling it to operate on sensitive surfaces such as sand and turf, low-weight floors and muddy terrain, without placing mats or cribbing to support the machine’s weight.

Performance Access is also excited about the 20° vertical track swivel ability of the boom lift – this feature creates a smoother ride on rough ground conditions.

Rocco said he expected customers carrying out tasks related to construction, roofing and maintenance, as well as telecommunications, tree lopping and signage, would find the machine useful.

Rocco also spoke to the trusted Genie name.

“At Performance Access, safety and quality are paramount. Our well-maintained fleet of equipment is sourced from trusted manufacturers, guaranteeing optimal performance and reliability,” Rocco said.

“We chose a Genie boom because Genie is known for producing high-quality aerial work platforms and is a trusted name in the industry,” he added.
