Palfinger present emission-free EWPs at APEX 2023

Austrian heavy machine manufacturing company Palfinger have premiered their first emission-free elevated working platform (EWP) at APEX 2023.

Presented on June 6 at the exposition in Maastricht, Netherlands, the P 250 BK possesses a working height of around 25 metres and features an all-electric chassis containing high torque and efficient motor braking, resulting in a dynamic machine that is both sustainable and produces minimal noise.

Additionally featuring an eDrive battery pack that can be retrofitted into existing EWPs, Managing Director of Access Platforms at Palfinger Michael Gruböck labelled the machines as “emission-free, quiet and safe”.

“Together with our strong partner Iveco, we have created a solution with the P 250 BK eDRIVE mounted on the emission-free Iveco eDaily chassis that meets our goals in every respect,” he said.

In line with its Vison & Strategy 2030, Palfinger are setting themselves on manufacturing and developing a new range of products that provide solutions to the construction industry’s net-zero future. Citing electrification to play a big role, the Austrian manufacturers also highlighted their stance that emission-free and low-noise operations will soon be the norm.

Presenting their latest range of applications at the exposition, Palfinger also featured the P 220 BK, another emission-free EWP for working at heights under 25 metres, as well as the mobile and retrofittable eDrive battery packs, the P 170 TXE, the jumbo hybrid P 640, and the smaller yet more versatile P 130.

“Our shared expertise has been successfully utilized to optimize proven performance with the help of a new technology,” said Gruböck. “The result on display at APEX will sustainably change the industry.”

APEX 2023, running from June 6 to June 8, will feature over 150 exhibitors presenting low-emission equipment, innovation, and digitalisation.

Additionally, the Dutch convention, produced by Industrial Promotions International in partnership with Access International News, will give visitors the chance to network and meet top industry experts.
