Dutch crane company Pluimers Kraanverhuur has received a new Tadano truck crane HK 4.070-1, immediately putting the machine into service.
Formally handed over by Tadano’s Netherlands Sales Manager Richard Beenen, owner of the Rijssen-based crane service provider Willard Pluimers cited the “simplicity” and practicality of the crane as some of the main selling points.
“We chose this particular crane because it’s a lot more cost-effective to buy and operate than an all-terrain crane, given the sorts of jobs we intend to use it for,” he said.
Featuring a main boom length of 41m and an extension of 15.8m available, the truck crane operates with a maximum lifting radius of 44m. Additionally, the 70-tonne crane holds a maximum tip height of 60m and a Mercedes-Benz engine.
On top of its lifting capacity, the Tadano truck crane HK 4.070-1 Volvo tridem axle group was another big selling point for Pluimers. Providing a small turning radius thanks to its steered trailing axle, the Volvo carrier of the HK 4.070-1 also includes the Volvo I-Shift transmission – a popular choice among many crane operators.
Furthermore, the crane features a H-style outrigger system as well as five outrigger bases which allow the crane to operate in tight, confined spaces. Adding to its technical features, Pluimers was also highly complimentary of the Tadano Smart Chart system, labelling it “intelligent”.
“This intelligent control system for combined main boom and rooster sheave operation increases the available lifting capacity to the point where we can even use the HK 4.070-1 for lifts in the 80-tonne class,” he said.
Based in Rijssen, Netherlands, Pluimers Kranverhuur is a crane rental company providing services to private and commercial customers across the country. The Dutch company holds a fleet of telescopic crawler cranes ranging from 45 tonnes through to 150 tonnes, and tower cranes with jib lengths up to 50m.
