Washington-based crane services company Snell Crane Service has taken delivery of a brand new Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 to expand its crane services in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
The Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 takes the crane, rigging and hauling specialist’s fleet size to 19 cranes – six of which are Liebherr machines. Acquiring the crane to continue the company’s fleet expansion, Crane Superintendent Andy Stone said the crane fills the gap in Snell’s fleet and comes with outstanding support from Liebherr.
“We needed a crane that fit between our 60-tonne truck crane and 245-ton all terrain crane,” he said. “Liebherr has always been a very reliable product for us, and the technical support is top notch.”
The most powerful four-axle crane on the market, the Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1’s 66m boom is the longest in its class, coming with relatively large lifting capacities of nine tonnes when fully extended. This allows for savings on transport costs, as the machine is capable of completing lifts that would otherwise require a five-axle crane. Featuring the staple, patented features of VarioBase and VarioBallast, the machine is perfect for erecting radio masts and tower cranes according to the German manufacturer, with Regional Sales Manager Damien Knight labelling the crane as the “perfect addition” to Snell Crane’s “diverse crane fleet”.
“The long 66m telescopic boom on a compact four-axle carrier provides Snell Crane Services with so many opportunities to handle projects that would generally take a much larger crane,” he said. “We also identified the LTM 1120-4.1 as a crane that transports very well in the region requiring minimal support equipment to haul the counterweight to perform most jobs.”
Snell Crane Services holds over 25 years of experience in the crane, haulage, and rigging industries, operation across Washington and Oregon. Completing work pertaining to bridge girders, tilt ups, cell tower installation, precast work, HVAC replacement, and other related crane services, the company prides itself on providing safe and reliable services.
