Swiss company Richi AG has expanded its fleet with a new Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2 mobile crane, adding more versatility and efficiency to its operations.
The 110-tonne crane closes the gap between Richi’s 70-tonne and 120-tonne models, offering greater flexibility for a range of lifting jobs.
“To grow further in our core business, we need a powerful taxi crane. The LTM 1110-5.2 offers precisely the flexibility and performance we need,” said Markus Fleck, Head of the Cranes & Specialist Transport Business Unit at Richi AG. “Thanks to its load capacity, reach and high basic ballast, the 5-axle crane is perfect for all kinds of projects.”
One key advantage is the crane’s ability to carry 13.4 tonnes of ballast on public roads with a 12-tonne axle load. “In most cases, we are able to use the crane without an additional vehicle for ballast transport. This means we can not only reduce the work involved with transport, but we can also cut our fleet’s operating costs and CO₂ emissions,” said Markus.
“The crane also impresses with modern engine technology, optimised exhaust gas parameters and low fuel consumption. The LTM 1110-5.2 offers innovative functions such as LICCON3, VarioBase and ECOmode, which not only improve safety and performance, but also reduce our operating costs.”
The new mobile crane will mainly be used for assembling and dismantling tower cranes. It joins a fleet of eight mobile cranes, ranging from a 40-tonne model up to a 350-tonne LTM 1350-6.1. Richi AG also operates Liebherr mobile construction cranes, including an MK 88 and an MK 100, which will be replaced in 2026 by a new MK 120-5.1.
Markus said the company’s long-standing partnership with Liebherr played a major role in the decision. “Since our second supplier in this class doesn’t offer a comparable model, the LTM 1110-5.2 was our number one choice. The expert support from our contact in the sales team and customer services just made us even more convinced we were making the right decision.”
Just a day after delivery, the new crane was already on its first job. “With the LTM 1110-5.2, we are not just strengthening our fleet, but also the satisfaction and motivation of our team,” said Markus.
