New app uses augmented reality to showcase cranes

Palfinger has released a new augmented reality app that enables users to see its latest models in the real world.

Palfinger has released a new augmented reality (AR) app that enables users to see its latest models in the real world.

The app has three modes – 3D, AR and VR – and allows users to view cranes from all side with 3D animations.

This 3D model can be seen on a neutral grey background or can use a mobile phone’s camera to see how it would look in a truck yard, with a life-size and miniature models available.

Currently, the app can showcase the PK 135.002 TEC7 and PK 37.002 TEC7 cranes, with more products planned to be introduced soon, such as the PCC 115.002 Crawler Crane.

Product videos can be started through the app, which can scan brochures to bring up relevant information and media.
