Some of Tadano’s cranes caught Alessandro Gino’s eyes after a visit to its German centre in Zweibrücken, so the Autovictor Operations Manager decided to add three of them to the Autovictor fleet to help navigate tight Italian job sites whilst boasting significant strength.
The new AC 5.130-1 will be the second in Autovictor’s fleet, with Alessandro ordering the new crane.
Alessandro ordered this AC 5.130-1, which can lift up to 130 tonne and includes a maximum boom length of 59m, with a swing-away jib and a second winch.
“We ordered the first back in 2021 and are extremely happy with it – together with its long main boom and outstanding lifting capacity, the crane’s compact dimensions make it an incredibly versatile machine,” he said.
“Since work sites in Italy are not particularly spacious, this makes it the crane of choice for our needs – especially when combined with the Flex Base system, which allows us to extend the unit’s outriggers to any point within range where we need them.”
The AC 5.130-1.
Tadano Italy Business Leader Davide Camperi said Alessandro’s decision to then buy a 650 tonne CC 36.650-1 lattice boom crawler was expedited after his visit to Zweibrücken to buy the AC 5.130-1.
“This experience not only reaffirmed his trust in the quality of Tadano products and service, but also sped up our negotiations regarding the purchase of a CC 36.650-1, which started right after the AC 5.130-1 was handed over,” Davide said.
After that, things fell into place right away: the next month, the purchase agreement was signed, and then Tadano delivered the CC 38.650-1 to Autovictor, painted with the customer’s company colours.
The CC 36.650-1 is the power player of the new trio for Autovictor, as its one of the most powerful lattice boom crawler cranes of its class.
This model is known for combining power, cost-effectiveness, and safety for a wide variety of lifting applications.
A 171m main boom, a lifting capacity of 650 tonnes at a radius of 12m, and a maximum load moment of 8,448m tonnes enable the CC 38.650-1 to deliver more than enough power to perform the heavy lifts required by Autovictor.
In addition, its Superlift Split Tray with quick couplings makes it easy to uncouple a counterweight that is no longer need once the main boom has been erected. This makes assembly faster, reducing the amount of personnel needed and eliminating the need for an assist crane.
The handover of the CC 38.650-1 perfectly coordinated with the delivery of a new Tadano AC 4.080-1, with both taking place directly at Autovictor’s company site. The Italians had ordered an AC 4.080-1, its second, around the same time as the AC 5.130-1 purchase.
The AC 4.080-1 is 12.15m in length and 2.55m in width, which aligns strongly with Autovictor’s project profile, which can consist of tight and narrow construction locations.
Autovictor has been an important Tadano customer for around 25 years and has maintains an excellent business relationship with the global crane manufacturer.
