The UK-based manufacturer of modular spreader beams initially introduced the Trunnion Spreader Beams design to the market in 2015, which took the lifting world by storm thanks to its shackle-free design that reduces rigging time, costs, and enhances safety. Being taken up by industries such as offshore, oil & gas, renewable energy, as well as nuclear, construction, and logistics, the new design is a by-product of “meticulous” advanced finite element analysis, according to Engineering Manager at Modulift, Harshal Kulkarni.
“The geometrically non-linear trunnions undergo validation through leading technical engineering software, ensuring a robust and effective design,” he said. “The Trunnion demonstrates Modulift’s commitment to innovative design engineering. DNV has approved the design methodology, adhering to industry standards Eurocode 3, DNV-CG-0127, DNV-RU-SHIP Pt.3 Ch.7, and DNV-RP-C208.”
The new design of the Trunnion Spreader Beams requires no shackles or drop links, and is available in multiple different sizes. Compatible with the existing MOD Spreader Beam range, the Trunnion End Unit is interchangeable with struts from the MOD 110 up to the MOD 600/1000 product lines.
“The trunnion marks another milestone in our commitment to providing innovative lifting solutions,” said Sarah Spivey, Managing Director at Modulift. “The improvements not only enhance the efficiency and safety of lifting operations but also underscore our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our diverse customer base.”
Modulift’s products are distributed across Australia by Bullivants and Maxirig.
