Potain tower cranes to aid in Georgian high-rise construction

Georgian real-estate developers Orbi Group Tbilisi have purchased two Potain MCT 275 tower cranes to aid the construction of a major high-rise development.

Arriving to the jobsite in early 2023, the topless tower cranes delivered to the Eastern-European nation are the K10 model of the 275 series, capable of lifting 10 tonnes.

“We selected the two Potain cranes because of their topless design that provides greater slewing clearance, easier assembly, and excellent lifting performance,” said Giorgi Abramishvili, stakeholder representative at Orbi Group.

Additionally, the cranes feature jib length configurations from 30 metres through to 70 metres in increments of five metres. Able to lift up to 2.3 tonnes at its maximum lifting height, the MCT 275 K10 can also reach a maximum height under hook of 220 metres, making it one of the best performers for long-distance lifting in the market.

“We particularly appreciate the benefits of the high tip load that covers all our lifting needs, while the speedy setup is another bonus,” said Abramishvili.

Partnering with Blog Group, Orbi Group Tbilisi’s Central Park Towers project is set to create a new landmark in the downtown of Georgia’s capital.

The cranes are expected to stay on-site until late 2024, and will help construct four underground basement levels and two 42 story towers over a total building area of 140,000 square-metres.

The project is set to be completed in 2025.
