Manitowoc to showcase three new products to make Potain cranes easier to use

At Bauma 2025, crane maker Potain will introduce three new products to make its cranes more user-friendly. These include an expanded range of K-mast sections, a motorised trailer dolly, and a mobile version of a self-erecting crane.

Potain is adding two new mast sizes to its K-mast range, the large K 880 (2.45-metre-wide) and the small K 200 (1.2-metre-wide). These options give builders more flexibility to match crane height and strength to different jobsite needs.

The K 880 is built for very tall towers, while the K 200 is ideal for tight spaces, such as elevator shafts. The smaller mast can also be easily transported (up to 40 metres of mast fits on one truck).

Potain has also added a new tool, a movable arm, to make it easier to insert and remove the pins that hold mast sections together.

A new version of the GAPO motorised trailer dolly, built by Italian company Gavarini, will also be on show. This remote-controlled device helps a single person load, unload, and move self-erecting cranes, even on rough ground. The ability to turn sharply can help navigate tight spaces or steep paths. It works with a range of Potain cranes and can move other types of equipment.

Additionally, Dutch company Montarent will display a new system that makes Potain cranes mobile. The Montalift M30-4WDS mounts the Potain Evy 30-23 crane on a specially designed undercarriage with four-wheel drive and steering. With this setup, the crane can move while fully set up.
