Manitowoc recently hosted a three-day event in Tainan, Taiwan, highlighting its latest Grove mobile cranes to customers across construction, energy, and equipment rental sectors. Over 30 companies attended live demonstrations designed to show off the cranes’ latest features and how they improve productivity and efficiency.
The spotlight was on two all-terrain cranes: a GMK5150XL delivered to Li Ying, and a GMK5250XL-1 purchased by Fu Yifa. Li Ying’s GMK5150XL is the first of its kind in Taiwan and will support wind energy projects—where reliable lifting and quick setup are essential. The crane was delivered with extra boom and jib extensions to handle a wide range of lifting tasks.
Also celebrated during the event was Kao Ching Engineering’s purchase of a GMK6300L-1, marking another significant investment in high-performance crane tech.
Manitowoc used the event to demonstrate its Crane Control System (CCS), which comes standard on all new Grove models. The system offers a simple, intuitive interface with a full graphic display and a jog dial for quick settings adjustment. The Boom Configurator Tool, another standout feature, allows operators to input lift details, and the system automatically sets the correct boom length—making job site prep faster and more accurate.
Attendees were particularly impressed with how compact the cranes are, which makes them easier to transport and operate in crowded job sites. Fast setup, high mobility, and strong lifting performance across long boom lengths were other major talking points.
Manitowoc’s vice president of mobile crane product management, Andreas Cremer, said the event was a chance to strengthen ties with customers. “Our focus remains on delivering smart, reliable solutions that help our customers achieve more,” he said.
