Manitowoc renews Australian distribution deal

Manitowoc Cranes has renewed its distribution deal with TRT Australia, extending the agreement with a new long-term deal that includes Manitowoc and Grove cranes.

Manitowoc Cranes has renewed its distribution deal with TRT Australia, extending the agreement with a new long-term deal that includes Manitowoc and Grove cranes.

In 2016, TRT became the distributor for Manitowoc and Grove cranes in Queensland, moving to the company’s current site in Murarrie, Brisbane that was previously owned by Manitowoc. At this time, TRT began to manufacture and distribute its own crane, the TIDD PC25, a 25t articulating crane.

TRT then purchased B&N Cranes, an established Brisbane crane service and repair specialist, which allowed TRT to support Manitowoc and Grove products locally.

In 2018, TRT expanded its facilities on the Murarrie site, adding another 600 square metres including a fully covered workshop, 10t gantry crane and service facility. This increased the overall capacity of the warehouse.

Manitowoc Vice President & General Manager, Australia and New Zealand, John Stewart, said TRT have been partners with Manitowoc and Grove since 1972 and are one of the longest and strongest Manitowoc distributors internationally.

TRT’s commitment to support Queensland customers has been outstanding and I am continually receiving positive feedback from both new and existing Manitowoc owners,” Stewart said.

“As TRT continues to grow and invest in Queensland, their commitment to Manitowoc is clear and I can confirm our long-term commitment to them.  We are very excited about the future in Queensland and the strong relationship we have with TRT Australia.”

TRT Chief Operating Officer, Lawrence Baker, said the commitment from Manitowoc to grow TRT’s operations is in line with strategic growth plans, reaffirming TRT’s long-term presence in Queensland and Australia as a whole.

TRT Country Manager, Stephen Dance, said the company now has 24 fully trained staff in the field and on-site, with six factory trained specialist Manitowoc Grove technicians.

“We are committed to our Queensland customers for the long haul,” he said.

“As the mining industry and infrastructure projects continue to grow from strength to strength across Queensland, we have invested in a number of new cranes to keep in stock at our Brisbane site, crawlers, all terrain cranes and the latest TIDD PC28 articulated cranes.

“We know that business can’t wait when customers need equipment, so we are here ready to deliver.”
