Crane maker Manitowoc has opened a new office and workshop just outside Sydney, marking a major expansion of its Australian operations. The move is aimed at improving customer support across the country as demand for crane services continues to grow.
The new facility now covers 20,000 square metres (m²)—nearly triple the size of its previous 7,400 m² site. It includes upgraded office space, a larger workshop, expanded parts storage, and a bigger outdoor yard area. Manitowoc has also added a dedicated crane refurbishment centre under its EnCORE programme, plus a training centre and sales offices.
According to John Stewart, general manager at Manitowoc, the facility is designed to deliver faster service, better repairs, and easier access to parts and training. “We’re excited to see our aftersales team grow as we expand our capacity to support both new and used equipment,” he said.
The company says the site was built with long-term growth in mind. By the end of the year, Manitowoc expects to add more staff to support its service, parts, and training teams.
Paul Churchill, director of aftersales, added that the expansion is essential for meeting the company’s targets in the region. “We are positioning ourselves to meet growing market demands with more products and better service offerings,” he said.
Manitowoc plans to continue expanding its product range, improving efficiency, and creating more opportunities for its customers in Australia. This facility marks a key step in that strategy.
