Manitowoc has debuted its Grove GRT655L rough-terrain crane and the GMK5150XL all-terrain crane at JDL Expo 2023 in France.
The North American company made its presence known at the Expo in Beaune, working alongside some of its key regional partners – EGM, Foselev, AMP, and Vinci – to showcase some of the latest Grove cranes to be developed. On top of the aforementioned machines, Manitowoc and co. also showcased the GMK3060L-1 and the GMK5250XL-1 all-terrain cranes.
Manitowoc also showcased its Grove Connect app-based telematics platform, which received “excellent” feedback from customers according to the North American manufacturer. With all cranes being sold to local customers, Olivier Regis, Manitowoc’s sales director of Grove mobile cranes in France, said JDL visitors showed great interest in the Grove cranes.
“JDL was again a fantastic display of innovation by Grove and Manitowoc,” he said. “It was great to see so many industry players and decision-makers visit our partners’ booths and hear directly from them about what they need to improve their lifting operations.
“The cranes we displayed received lots of great feedback.”
The GMK5150XL was one of Manitowoc’s highlights of the French exhibition. Owned by EGM, the 150-tonne, five-axle all-terrain crane includes an almost 69m main boom. It offers multiple taxi crane configurations – all the way up to 16.5 tonnes per axle – delivering greater roadability and transport savings for customers.
Manitowoc also showcased the GMK3060L-1 owned by Foselev, a family-owned, crane rental company that has acquired 11 Manitowoc cranes in the last year. The 60-tonne, three-axle all-terrain crane features a seven-section MegaForm boom, making it suitable for work in tight locations.
Visitors to JDL Expo 2023 also saw the GMK5250XL-1 presented by AMP, a tower crane rental company that uses its fleet of all-terrain cranes for assembly. The GMK5250XL-1, with the longest boom in its class and high lifting performance at height, is suitable for tower crane applications. The 250-tonne capacity crane includes a single-engine design, which delivers up to 30 per cent lower diesel consumption compared to previous models.
Also on display was the Vinci-owned Grove GRT655L. Vinci is one of the largest construction companies in the world and will use the Grove rough-terrain crane as a workhorse on its local jobsites. The 65-tonne capacity crane is built at the Niella Tanaro factory in Italy and features a hydraulically tilting cab and a strong, 43m, five-section, full power boom.
JDL Expo 2023 featured 200 exhibitors and hosted nearly 20,000 visitors.
