Lifting Gear Hire (LGH), a global player in the heavy lifting and moving equipment rental space, has officially launched operations in Australia.
With a new base set up in Somersby on the Central Coast of New South Wales, LGH is starting off with a regional focus but plans to make its equipment available nationwide.
The company will rent out a wide range of equipment including:
• Hoists, clamps, and hydraulic jacks
• Rigging gear like slings and modular spreader beams
• General material handling tools
LGH will bring a more specialised and service-driven approach, backed by decades of experience across the UK, Europe, and North America.
According to Chairman Ian Parkinson, expanding into Australia is the company’s biggest move since launching in the US back in 1990. Ian said, “LGH has always been focused on growth and expansion, this has been an important component for our current and future success. The international territories we operate in are places of strong industrial activity where there is a highly-regulated approach to health and safety, so Australia has naturally been a target for future operations.
“Not only is the economy growing, but investment in the country’s infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, and defence sectors continues to be robust, so we believe that we can play our part in helping these dynamic sectors to thrive,” Ian added.
Ian said the company wanted to wait until conditions were right, pointing to the current economic climate and Australia’s robust regulatory standards as key motivators.
To ensure quality, LGH is sticking with its established suppliers like SpanSet and Durapac in Australia, along with international partners such as Tiger Lifting, JD Neuhaus, and Modulift. With 55 years of industry experience, LGH believes it can build strong relationships in Australia’s already well-established lifting gear market.
