Liebherr’s new 43 K crane gets its first customer

Carpentry firm Zimmerei Frank has taken delivery of the first Liebherr 43 K fast-erecting crane, a new model designed for use in dense urban environments. The Munich-based company added the crane to its existing fleet of 14 Liebherr models in May 2025.

The 43 K is built for projects in narrow city spaces, especially roof renovations and extensions to historic buildings. It has a hook height of 30.2 metres, a compact footprint, and a long reach—features that make it suitable for complex construction jobs in central Munich.

The crane also comes equipped with Liebherr’s Sway Control system, which reduces load swing and helps less experienced operators manage lifts more safely.

The 43 K replaces Liebherr’s earlier 34 K model, which Zimmerei Frank had used successfully in the past. The company highlighted the increased hook height as a key reason for upgrading.

“Zimmerei Frank stands for quality and honest collaboration. We expect the same from our suppliers. Our many years of working with Liebherr is a reflection of this,” said Stefan Frank, owner and managing director of Zimmerei Frank.

The crane was first tested by the company during a factory tour at Liebherr’s site in Biberach in late 2024. The purchase reflects the long-term working relationship between the two companies, which has grown over several years through multiple construction projects across the region.
