Liebherr has delivered its first 440 HC-L luffing jib crane to John Paul Construction. The crane is now operational on the Donore Project, a landmark residential development aimed at addressing Dublin’s housing needs.
The 440 HC-L crane was supplied through Armorum Ltd., the official Liebherr distributor in Ireland. This crane is designed for large-scale urban construction, offering a blend of compact design, high lifting capacity, and smart control systems.
“We are proud to continue our strong partnership with John Paul Construction, which has trusted Liebherr’s technology for over 50 years,” a Liebherr spokesperson said. “The 440 HC-L represents a new era of efficiency and innovation in crane technology.”
The 440 HC-L boasts a maximum lifting capacity of 24 tonnes and can handle up to 3.9 tonnes at a 65-meter jib length. Its advanced EMS-4 control system, 12-inch Tower Crane Operating System (TC-OS) display, and redesigned counter-jib system offer intuitive operation and enhanced safety features.
Additional technologies like the Litronic control system, Load-Plus, Micromove, and electric wind release ensure precision and support for crane operators in challenging urban environments.
Donore Project
Situated in the heart of Dublin’s south inner city, the Donore Project is set to deliver 542 high-quality new homes, including 389 cost-rental and 153 social housing apartments. This development, a collaboration between the Land Development Agency (LDA) and Dublin City Council (DCC), will also feature public spaces and vital social infrastructure.
John Paul Construction’s strong relationship with Liebherr continues to thrive through this project. “Our decision to utilise the new 440 HC-L crane reflects our confidence in Liebherr’s continued innovation,” a representative from John Paul Construction stated.
Six Liebherr tower cranes, including the 440 HC-L, are integral to the safe and efficient progress of the Donore Project, highlighting the partnership between Liebherr and John Paul Construction.
