Liebherr crane duo added to crane and heavy haulage contractor fleet

German crane and heavy haulage contractor Dietmar Floßdorf GmbH & Co. KG has strengthened its fleet with two new Liebherr machines – an LTM 1750-9.1 mobile crane and an LTR 1150 telescopic crawler crane.

The LTM 1750-9.1 is now the company’s most powerful crane, while the LTR 1150 will act as a setup and support crane, particularly for wind farm projects.

“We purchased the LTM 1750-9.1 to significantly expand our deployment options in the heavy-duty and major assembly sectors, especially in relation to wind power,” said Marco Floßdorf, authorised signatory at the company. “Its high load capacity combined with good mobility allows us to install large hub heights and heavy components even more efficiently.

We purchased the mobile crane with all of the equipment, which ensures maximum flexibility and utilisation in a variety of sectors. This crane will strengthen us in many different ways.”

The LTR 1150 offers a combination of high lifting capacity, fast setup times and strong terrain capability. With its telescopic boom and crawler undercarriage, the 150-tonne crane can travel with a load on the hook and handle system components as an auxiliary crane.

“For us, the LTR 1150 offers the ideal combination of high load capacity, rapid setup time and exceptional terrain capability,” said Marco. “The telescopic boom makes the setup work so much faster and simpler. And since the machine is optimised for transport, the LTR 1150 represents the perfect add-on for combined use with the LTM 1750-9.1.”
On its first project, a small wind farm near Alsfeld in Hesse, the LTR 1150 helped install the large crane’s luffing jib in tight conditions. The crawler crane was able to carry the jib components to the edge of the site and lift them into place over inaccessible farmland thanks to its 52-metre boom.

“Our new telescopic crawler crane combines a lot of advantages in one machine,” said Marco. “No additional dismantling is needed for a rapid site change on wind farms. And it is superb for preparatory and ancillary work on major construction projects. Moreover, the LTR 1150 isn’t just highly mobile, but it’s also really powerful. Both of the new additions to our crane fleet, which now comprises more than 20, will expand more than just our capacities. They mean we’ll also be able to implement safer and more efficient processes for our customers.”

Floßdorf’s 70-strong team now has access to more than 20 cranes and 23 transport vehicles, supporting heavy haulage, wind energy, and major construction projects. For now, both new Liebherr machines will be deployed primarily on wind farm construction sites.
