LGH expands hire fleet with new multi-lug lifting beams

LGH Australia has expanded its lifting and rigging hire fleet with a new custom Multi-Lug Lifting Beam designed for complex lifts that need multiple lifting points and precise load control.

The new unit is a 30-tonne single-pick, 50-tonne two-pick beam built for safe, secure and efficient handling of heavy loads where balanced weight distribution is essential. Its multi-lug design allows sling spacing to be adjusted to suit the shape of the load, and it can be used for central lifts or set up in spreader and semi-spreader configurations.

The beam also has a modular design that can be bolted together to extend its length, with minor de-rating, to a maximum span of 18 metres. This gives contractors more flexibility when dealing with oversized or irregular loads.

The 30-tonne model is designed to manage awkward or offset centres of gravity, making it suitable for mechanical installs, precast lifting, infrastructure projects, shutdowns and a wide range of industrial work. Its design allows for more stable control of irregular or multi-pick loads, supporting contractors on technically demanding lifts.

Like all equipment in the LGH Australia fleet, the new beam is tested and certified in-house before every hire to ensure full traceability, compliance with strict quality standards and confidence during critical operations.

LGH Australia Representative Hadley Price said: “As a leader in specialist lifting solutions globally, we’re excited to bring our custom multi-lug beams to the Australian market. We know how important it is for contractors to have versatile, highly capable equipment and these beams deliver exactly that. For many companies, owning a high-cost item like this isn’t feasible, but when it comes to complicated loads with multiple pick points, it truly is the right tool for the job.”

The new 30-tonne Multi-Lug Lifting Beam is now available for hire across Australia.
