LGH Australia has expanded its specialist lifting and moving fleet with the introduction of its first Hydra-Slide hydraulic skidding system, bringing the technology to the Australian market for the first time.
The addition strengthens LGH Australia’s ability to support complex heavy-moving projects, particularly in constrained and high-risk environments where traditional lifting or skidding methods may not be practical.
The Hydra-Slide system is designed to move heavy loads safely and precisely, offering controlled movement and reduced risk. It is commonly used in situations where space is limited and accuracy is critical.
Tony Fiscelli, President of LGH North America, said LGH has worked with Hydra-Slide for more than a decade in overseas markets.
“LGH North America has partnered with Hydra-Slide for over a decade, and during that time, we’ve supported numerous critical heavy-moving projects across industries such as power generation, oil & gas, and infrastructure,” Tony said.
“Our experience has been consistently positive—Hydra-Slide systems have proven to be reliable, safe, and efficient for load moving and skidding operations. We’ve seen these solutions excel in situations where precision and safety are paramount, such as moving transformers, heavy machinery, and structural components in confined spaces.”

Tony said the partnership has allowed LGH to deliver complete solutions by combining rental expertise with specialised equipment.
“The collaboration has allowed us to deliver turnkey solutions to clients, combining LGH’s rental expertise with Hydra-Slide’s innovative engineering. This synergy has helped us meet tight timelines, reduce risk, and ensure successful outcomes on complex projects,” he said.
He said the systems are trusted for their performance and design.
“Hydra-Slide systems are trusted because they deliver precise, controlled movement with exceptional safety and efficiency. Their low-profile design is ideal for tight spaces, and the hydraulic technology ensures smooth and predictable load handling. Built for durability and simplicity, these systems minimise risk and downtime, making them a reliable choice for heavy industrial moves,” Tony said.
LGH Australia has introduced the Hydra-Slide XLP150 at a time when demand is growing for safer and more efficient ways to move large equipment in confined spaces. Infrastructure, energy and industrial projects are becoming more complex, increasing the need for solutions that improve control and reduce downtime.

Hadley Price, LGH Australia Representative, said the investment reflects the company’s long-term plans in Australia.
“As LGH Australia has entered the Australian market, we have invested heavily in our bread-and-butter products. With the continued growth in the overseas markets of our hydraulic skidding range, we felt it was a product we wanted to introduce to Australia early,” Hadley said.
“It aligns with how we operate as a business, which is heavily focused on offering the right equipment for the right job, and our goal in Australia is to educate the benefits of using hydraulic skidding systems in opposition to other methods, which can often be less safe and more complex.”
Hadley said there are limited hire options for hydraulic skidding systems in Australia.
“Outside of heavy haulage and transport companies, there isn’t a provider of hydraulic skidding systems in Australia for hire. Most of those that are available are often custom-fabricated systems, which can have their own drawbacks,” he said.
“By offering an off-the-shelf system, LGH offers proven reliability, direct manufacturer support, speed of implementation, and a clear scope of how the equipment can and can’t be used.”
The Hydra-Slide hydraulic skidding system is available for hire from LGH Australia’s Somersby facility, with nationwide availability to support projects across Australia.
