Largest mobile tower crane taken on by Sparrow Crane Hire

Sparrow Crane Hire's new self-erecting mobile tower crane is the largest of its kind in the world.

Sparrow Crane Hire has taken delivery of the largest mobile self-erecting tower crane in the world, Spierings’ SK1265-AT6 eLift.

Th UK-based crane hire company decided to acquire the new machine because of the popularity of the SK599 in its fleet, another mobile tower crane.

Additionally, the purchase of the crane was also driven by its capacity to operate 100% emission-free with complete silence, another request received from customers by Sparrow Crane Hore. Its emission and noise free operation enhances its practicality in inner-city jobs where noise restrictions apply.

The SK1265-AT6 holds a maximum load of 10,000 kilograms at a height of 13.2 metres, with a tip load of 1700 kilograms and a maximum operating radius of 60 metres. The crane also possesses a lifting height of 35 metres, a tower height of 37.2 metres, and a maximum lifting height of 64.2 metres with a jib luffed at a 30-degree angle.

The crane achieves its 100% emission-free operation with its Advanced PowerPack battery technology, which efficiently absorbs energy peaks and charges when surplus energy is available.

The SK1265-AT6 Zero-Emission eLift system can also be connected to a 32A grid connection, a power source regularly available at most job sites. The system uses between 11A and 25A which can be pre-set at the display, allowing for energy reserves to operate other equipment on site.

The UK-based Spierings has been in operation since 1987 developing a range of mobile tower cranes, offering servicing requirements, and selling used cranes.

Sparrow Crane Hire operate in the South West of the UK in Bristol, providing UK-wide and European crane rental services with a large, diverse fleet.
