The higher load capacity and good experience with the predecessor encouraged Kurth Autokrane to purchase the 60-tonne LTF 1060-4.1.

The LTF 1060-4.1. boasts a telescopic boom height of 40 metres. It also includes a maximum radius of 48m and a maximum hoist height of 56m.

Kurth Autokrane Managing Director Marcel Kurth explained the decision to purchase the LTF 1060-4.1.

“We have had good experiences with the Liebherr truck-mounted cranes, but the LTF 1045-4.1 was increasingly reaching its performance limit,” said Marcel.

“That is why we decided to buy the much more powerful LTF 1060-4.1. Fuel consumption and maintenance costs are lower for cranes with a truck chassis.”

The LTF 1060-4.1 provides an economical alternative in the taxi crane class. The four axle vehicle has the capacity to travel with the ballast of 10.2 tonnes. The axle load on the front wheels remains at nine tonnes on the front and 12 tonnes on the rear with the gross weight at 42 tonnes.

Transporting the ballast on a separate vehicle allows the crane to drop its weight to 33 tonnes allowing greater flexibility for licensing and registration.

This year, Kurth Autokrane is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Marcel founded his company in 1999 starting with one small crane, one driver and his wife by his side.

“Today, Kurth operates 126 machines with 19 employees,” he said.

“Our company is an all-round service provider for cranes, work platforms, ground-level work and heavy haulage as well as towing and recovery services for trucks
