Kito Crosby has been awarded a major offshore contract to design and supply high-capacity fairlead and horizontal block systems for a new Floating Production Unit (FPU) in the Gulf of America.
The project involves Crosby Fairlead and Horizontal Block systems with a rated capacity of 600 tonnes. These systems will form a key part of an 800-tonne riser pull-in package for the offshore facility.
The contract was awarded in the fourth quarter of 2025 and strengthens Kito Crosby’s position as a supplier of high-capacity load-handling equipment for offshore projects.
The work will be delivered through close collaboration between Kito Crosby, its business partner MDL (Maritime Development), and the end client, an international energy company.
Crosby was selected for its ability to deliver a technically advanced and fatigue-resistant solution that meets strict project requirements. These include tight space and weight limits, as well as complex interface constraints.
The supplied systems are designed to provide proven performance, compact and weight-efficient construction, and high reliability under dynamic offshore loads. They also comply with offshore standards and customer specifications.
Engineering, manufacturing and delivery will be aligned with the overall FPU construction and installation schedule. The systems are designed to support long-term operation and safe handling during critical offshore activities.
