Interkran boosts fleet with new Tadano AC 5.250-2 crane

Swiss crane and heavy lifting company Interkran has added a new Tadano AC 5.250-2 all-terrain crane to its fleet, aiming to enhance its lifting capabilities across Switzerland.

The Tadano AC 5.250-2 features a 70-metre main boom and offers up to 30 per cent more lifting capacity than previous models in its class. It also has an optional main boom extension that adds up to 42 metres, allowing for a total reach of up to 112 metres. Notably, all extensions from 5.8 to 36 metres are self-rigging, making setup quicker and safer.

Interkran Managing Directors António and Edite Teixeira highlighted the crane’s versatility and performance. “The AC 5.250-2 is perfect for our work. We’re impressed with its lifting power, easy-to-rig extensions, and flexible transport options. It’s ideal for both tower crane assembly and general construction projects across Switzerland,” they said.

The crane’s efficient design allows it to carry heavy loads while staying within a 12-tonne axle load limit, reducing the need for additional transport. It can handle loads up to 67.3 tonnes with a three-sheave hook block or a 5.8-metre heavy-lift runner onboard. Advanced features like IC-1 Plus and Surround View improve safety and efficiency on-site, while eco-friendly functions like the start-stop feature and eco mode support sustainable operations.

Michael Zieger, Sales Manager for Tadano, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership. “We’re grateful to Interkran for choosing the AC 5.250-2. It’s designed for the high-precision, high-performance jobs they excel at. It’s always great to work with clients who appreciate advanced technology and practical solutions,” he said.

With the new Tadano crane, Interkran continues to lead in delivering efficient and reliable lifting services throughout Switzerland.
