Acquiring the machine to operate as a taxi crane across a range of different jobs, Auto Klug’s Managing Director, Christina Glück, praised the versatility of the crane.
“One of the main reasons we opted for the AC 4.070L-1 is that it can carry a lot of counterweight,” she said. “That makes it a highly versatile machine that can be used for a wide range of jobs.”
Featuring a maximum lifting capacity of 70 tonnes that it can lift at a radius of 2.5m, the Tadano AC 4.070L-1 possesses a maximum tip height of 71m, a maximum lifting radius of 52m, and a main telescopic boom length of 52.1m at which the machine can lift 5.2 tonnes. The crane possesses compact dimensions of 12.5m in length, 2.5m in width, and 3.9m in height, making the crane ideally suited to jobs requiring roadable, tight-fitting machines.
The counterweight can be split in a flexible manner, making it possible to conform to axle load limits of 10 to 16.5 tonnes – hence Klug’s decision to purchase the AC 4.070L-1 all-terrain crane with the full 16.5-tonne complement of counterweight. According to Tadano, another deciding factor for Klug was that their fleet already includes several similar Tadano machines. The similarities make it easy for its operators to move between the different models.
The new crane will mainly be used at the Bayreuth-Bindlach site, but is also available for use at the other facilities across Bavaria, Saxony, Thuringia, and Saxony-Asphalt.
The company’s crane hire division spans from 20 tonnes through to 500 tonnes in capacity.
