Ground Breakers Stage to debut at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026

A new feature called the Ground Breakers Stage will debut at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, highlighting technologies, business models and people shaping the future of construction.

The stage, presented by Sherwin-Williams, will run from March 3–6 in Las Vegas. It will feature leaders from construction, mining, transportation and technology discussing innovation already being used on jobsites.

Dana Wuesthoff, Show Director, said the platform was created to bring attention to real-world changes happening across the industry.

“The Ground Breakers Stage was created to elevate the conversations shaping the next era of construction,” Dana said. “These sessions go beyond concepts and focus on how innovation is being applied right now to solve real challenges across the industry.”

Keynote presentations from John Deere, AWS, Autodesk and Caterpillar were announced last year. Attendees and exhibitors are encouraged to attend the presentations, which will also be livestreamed in the Community Zone. The Ground Breakers Stage will be located in West Hall 108–110.

Day one preview — Tuesday, March 3, 2026

The opening day will focus on autonomy, artificial intelligence and leadership, with an emphasis on keeping people at the centre of technology.

Sessions will include discussions on connectivity for intelligent jobsites, autonomous drilling and remote mining operations, and how executive teams can integrate AI into business operations.

“Autonomy and AI are only transformative if they strengthen the people behind the work,” Dana said. “Day one highlights how technology is being implemented thoughtfully, with safety, decision-making and workforce impact at the center.”

Day two preview — Wednesday, March 4, 2026

The second day will look at robotics, digital services and equipment training, alongside keynote presentations from Autodesk and Caterpillar.

Topics will include robotic intelligence in earthmoving, connected services that extend the value of equipment, and immersive training technologies such as virtual reality simulations for heavy equipment operators.

“What we’re seeing is a shift from standalone equipment to fully integrated solutions,” Dana said. “Day two of the Ground Breakers Stage shows how robotics, services and training are coming together to improve productivity across the entire jobsite ecosystem.”

Day three preview — Thursday, March 5, 2026

Thursday’s program will focus on connected jobsites and global technology trends.

Sessions will explore how contractors are using connected systems to streamline operations and improve collaboration, as well as a panel looking at technologies influencing construction worldwide, including robotics, cybersecurity, drones and AI.

“Connected jobsites are no longer a future concept,” Dana said. “They are becoming the standard. These conversations help contractors understand how data and technology can be adopted in ways that support both productivity and the workforce.”

Day four preview — Friday, March 6, 2026

The final day will turn to broader industry factors such as infrastructure policy, recognition of innovation and the future of jobsite power.

The program will include a discussion on the outlook for U.S. infrastructure, the Next Level Awards recognising equipment and technology innovations, and a session on smarter and more connected approaches to jobsite power management.

“The final day brings together the big picture of infrastructure investment, innovation, and the systems that will power future jobsites,” Dana said. “It’s about recognizing progress while looking ahead to what construction needs next.”

CONEXPO-CON/AGG is North America’s largest construction trade show, bringing together construction professionals, manufacturers and technology leaders from around the world. The show will run from March 3–7, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
