First Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2 with LICCON3 in Brazil

Crane and heavy transport company Guindastes Tatuapé has expanded its crane fleet with a new LTM 1110-5.2. The 110-tonne model is the first Liebherr crane to be shipped to Brazil with the new LICCON3 control system.

Guindastes Tatuapé, based in São Paulo, already has several mobile cranes from Liebherr in the 100 to 120-tonne class. The five-axle new addition is the ideal complement and will be used in the oil and gas, industrial and mining sectors.

Guindastes Tatuapé and Liebherr have been close partners for more than 30 years.

“We really value the trusting cooperation and product quality: Liebherr also provides superb customer support locally”, said Marcelo Monteiro, Sales Manager at Guindastes Tatuapé.

When it came to the procurement of the new Liebherr LTM 1110-5.2 mobile crane, the Brazilian crane company attached great importance to technological innovations and appealing design. The 110-tonne crane, which also sports a new visual design thanks to the switch to the third generation of the LICCON control system, offers both.

“The system is intuitive to use, offers fast response times and better visualisation thanks to its large display,” said Monteiro.

The crane also boasts state-of-the-art technologies such as the adjustable VarioBase® Plus support base and modifiable VarioBallast® ballast radius that make jobs safer and more flexible. The TraXon DynamicPerform ZF gear system ensures greater efficiency and lower maintenance costs, while the clutch module allows wear-free starting and manoeuvring.

The outstanding properties of the LTM 1110-5.2 include its high load capacities and powerful telescopic boom.

“The 60-metre-long boom achieves tremendous lifting heights, which makes the use of larger and more expensive models of crane unnecessary. The LTM 1110-5.2 is therefore the ideal solution for efficient lifting operations and allows us and our customers to save money,” said Monteiro.

“The crane can carry with it a lot of ballast when driving on roads without needing an additional vehicle for transport. This is another point that helps to reduce costs.”

Guindastes Tatuapé has been active on the Brazilian market for more than 60 years, providing crane rental and special haulage services.

The company has relied on innovative technologies from the very beginning and keeps its fleet up to date with new crane models. At its headquarters in São Paulo and a branch in the state of Espírito Santo the fleet size is currently about 400 machines – typically including mobile and crawler cranes, forklifts, lifting platforms, knuckle boom cranes, conveyors and manipulators.
