Enerpac Tool Group Corp has acquired Madrid based DTA The Smart Move SA, a global leader in the industrial heavy loads transportation industry, designing and manufacturing mobile robotic solutions.
The acquisition is part of Enerpac Tool Group’s strategy of adding automated on-site horizontal movement products to its Heavy Lifting Technology (HLT) portfolio and capitalises on the trend towards greater automation in manufacturing and other industrial processes.
The DTA The Smart Move SA business was purchased for €24 million euros.
Smart move technology
DTA products include AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicles) and ARM (Automated Mobile Robotic). With a load capacity of 10 tons, AGVs offer a variety of guiding systems: wire-guided, magnetic-guided, optical-guided, artificial vision and laser.
In addition, DTA supply compact heavy duty electric transporters with load capacity up to 600 ton for in factory moves, together with 100 ton load capacity SPMTs (Self-Propelled Modular Transporters) with wireless operation, and industrial drawbar trailers.
The DTA products will expand the role of Enerpac Heavy Lifting Technology in heavy lifting and factory moves, as well as Enerpac’s solutions in existing vertical markets, including rail, wind, infrastructure, aerospace, and nuclear.
