The crane industry’s biggest annual gathering in New Zealand is set to return in 2026, with registrations now open for the 2026 Crane Association of New Zealand (CANZ) Conference in Christchurch.
The event will be held on 23–24 July at the modern Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre and is expected to attract crane company owners, operators, suppliers, engineers, regulators and industry partners from across New Zealand and overseas.
Held once a year, the conference provides a unique opportunity for the industry to come together to network, share knowledge and discuss the issues shaping the future of lifting and crane operations. The 2026 theme, “Strengthening standards, capability, and leadership to move our industry forward,” will focus on improving industry standards, building capability and strengthening the collective voice of the sector.
Delegates will hear from a range of keynote speakers, including performance coach James Laughlin, who has worked with Olympic athletes and high-performing leaders around the world, and communication and leadership specialist Carly Shorter. Returning as conference MC will be Jehan Casinader, an award-winning journalist and speaker well known within the construction and infrastructure sectors.
Christchurch was selected as the host city for the 2026 event, offering delegates a central location and easy access to accommodation, dining and tourism opportunities. CANZ says the conference is designed to combine practical industry insights with valuable networking opportunities in a relaxed and social environment.
