Taiwanese crane company Yueh Hsin has added the powerful Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 to its fleet, marking a significant upgrade as the largest crane in the company’s lineup. The management team personally received the new 8-axle mobile crane at Liebherr’s manufacturing plant in Ehingen, Germany.
With its impressive lifting capacity and advanced features like VarioBallast® and VarioBase®, the LTM 1650-8.1 is set to enhance Yueh Hsin’s service offerings. Tim Wang, Deputy Managing Director at Yueh Hsin, highlighted the importance of this investment: “The competition in crane hire in the 500-tonne class is tough—there are currently around 40 LTM 1500-8.1 models on the market. This is why we are deliberately opting for a model that not only delivers more performance but is also versatile in use.”
The crane’s VarioBallast® system allows quick adjustments to the ballast radius, improving load capacity and reducing the space needed on tight job sites. Meanwhile, VarioBase® offers variable, asymmetrical support that enhances stability on uneven terrain.
Yueh Hsin chose Liebherr not just for its crane performance but also for its reliable service and strong resale value. “For us, Liebherr is the ideal choice. Both the quality of the cranes and the exceptional customer service impress us,” Wang stated. “Another plus point is the high value retention and the attractive resale value of Liebherr mobile cranes. This gives us the security of knowing that our investment is a sound and cost-effective one in the long term too.”
The LTM 1650-8.1’s first assignment is already in place: it will be used in constructing a new semiconductor production facility, showcasing its capabilities in a critical industrial project.
Yueh Hsin, headquartered in Tainan City, employs 120 people and operates a fleet of 60 cranes, including 18 from Liebherr. The company serves various sectors, including industry, IT, chemical refineries, construction, and energy projects.
