Tadano Ltd. (Head Office: Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture; President: Toshiaki Ujiie) is aiming to achieve Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050 as stated in the Mid Term Management Plan (21-23). As part of Tadano Green Solutions, we have recently successfully completed the installation of a solar power generating system for self-consumption at Tadano Tadotsu Plant under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Daigas Energy Co. Ltd.
The newly completed solar power generating system has a total panel capacity of 606.8 kW, of which 543,000 kWh is expected to be consumed annually at the company’s plant. As a result, it is estimated that 32.2% of annual power consumption at the Tadotsu Plant will be provided by renewable energy.
The Tadano Group has set the long-term environmental target of a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions from business activities by 2030. The new installation of this solar power generating system is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 288 t annually, 1.5% of the emissions from all business sites in Japan (Based on FY 2019 baseline).
In addition, as part of the long-term environmental target of a 35% reduction in CO2 emissions from product use, we are planning to launch the world’s first electric rough terrain crane this year. The Tadano Group will continue contributing to realize a zero carbon society in a variety of ways.
